CREW-LA is managed by a Board of Directors who work together to set and accomplish the chapter’s strategic goals as detailed in the five-year strategic plan.

The CREW Los Angeles leadership team encompasses a talented group of CRE professionals dedicated to the advancement of women in the commercial real estate industry. To become a chapter leader, involvement in a committee is critical. It allows you to meet fellow CREW Los Angeles and CREW Network members, build your network of relationships, learn about local and national CRE industry trends, and understand how CREW Los Angeles contributes to the future of women in commercial real estate.

Below are CREW Los Angeles' board positions.

The President-Elect, President, and Immediate Past President shall each serve one-year terms, totaling three years. The other Directors and Officers shall each serve two-year terms, which shall be staggered terms. Membership on the Board of Directors shall be limited to six years in succession (or up to seven consecutive years if three of those years are in the capacities of President-Elect, President, and Immediate Past President).

Nomination Committee and Process

Each summer the president elect as Chair of the Nominating Committee petitions nominations for the coming year’s available board positions and establishes a Nominating Committee.

Nominations to the executive board of directors begin with a confidential application, in which members will state their intentions and select their desired leadership positions. A brief virtual interview will be conducted with those members seeking a board director position.

Members nominating for the president-elect position will undergo a lengthier process, including an in-person interview with the Nominating Committee.

Following the application submission deadline, the Nominating Committee assembles for a full day of application review and discussion and conducts interviews.

Appointments are made that day and announced following a membership-wide survey and approval of the selected slate, conducted via email.

The typical timeline is as follows:

-- June: Nominations accepted

-- July: Applications are completed by nominated candidates

-- August: Nominating Committee convenes and determines the recommended slate

-- Self-nominations are encouraged

Time Commitment

Board Members are required to attend monthly board meetings and all chapter events, as well as lead monthly committee meetings. Board Members are asked to attend as many CREW Network events as possible throughout the year. Board members are also encouraged to attend virtual and in person CREW Network events throughout the year.

Costs

Board Members are required to pay for chapter events that they are not leading, as well as CREW network events. Board Members who are also Delegates, receive comped registration and travel for CREW Network Delegate Sessions, held three times per year, in various locations. Board Directors are required to raise funds or donate.

Eligibility / Qualifications

Full Active, Associate, and Candidate Members are eligible to serve on the Board of Directors. Nominees for President-Elect must have previously been or currently be a Director.
